In this moving interview, Amy chats with Robyn Nietert, President and Cofounder of Women’s Microfinance Initiative (WMI). WMI is a non-profit, grassroots organization that provides small business loans to impoverished women in East Africa in order to help them stabilize their income and raise the standard of living for their families. WMI’s village-level loan hubs are administered by local women and provide capital, training and support services. Since its inception in 2008, WMI has issued 62,000 loans totaling over $8,000,000 to women in more than 1,000 villages.
